Photo printing
on glass is popular and continues to win hearts because it can be applied on
kitchen backsplashes, kitchen facades, the facade of a sliding wardrobe, and on
everything that your imagination prompts. To realize your ideas, you just need
to choose which printing method suits you best: UV or film. Outwardly, it is
quite difficult to see the differences if the same image is applied to glass
with these two methods. But both one and the other application method have
their pros and cons.
Printing on Film |
Printing on film
was once the only solution for the manufacture of glass with photo printing.
Paint is applied to a thin polymer film and then rolled onto the glass.
Main advantages:
low cost; high productivity; the high quality of picture or photo.
Disadvantages:
shrinkage of the film over time; the method requires special knowledge during
installation; products with film printing cannot be glued since the adhesive
corrodes the film.
UV Printing on Glass |
UV printing
makes it possible to create photographic images on the glass itself with paints
that harden under the influence of ultraviolet radiation.
Main advantages:
it is difficult to damage the paint layer (unless you scratch the product on
purpose); printing on material that is the direct carrier of the drawing; drawings
look somewhat brighter than when printing on film; you can stick products, but
only with special glue.
Disadvantages:
the high cost (2-4 times more expensive than printing on film); small
productivity.
